Versed Apps ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Versed Learn mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. Please read this policy carefully. By using Versed Learn, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. COPPA Compliance

Versed Learn is designed for users aged 13 and older. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us immediately at privacy@versedlearn.com. We will promptly delete such information from our systems.

For users between 13 and 17, we recommend that a parent or guardian review this privacy policy and supervise the use of the App. Our parent dashboard feature allows parents to monitor their child's study activity.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address used to create your account
• User Content: Flashcard decks and cards you create, including text content
• Study Data: Your study history, review responses, scheduling data, accuracy scores, streak information, and study session duration

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: App usage patterns, feature interactions, and session duration for improving the App experience
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and bug fixing

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Location data
• Contact lists or address books
• Photos, camera, or microphone data
• Advertising identifiers
• Browsing history outside the App

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App
• Power the FSRS spaced repetition algorithm to optimize your study schedule
• Generate AI-powered flashcards, test questions, and study insights (Pro users)
• Display your study statistics, streaks, and progress
• Provide parent dashboard functionality
• Process subscription payments through our payment processor
• Send essential account-related communications (e.g., password resets)
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase, a trusted cloud database platform. We implement the following security measures:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
• Row-level security policies ensure users can only access their own data
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only

5. Third-Party Services

We share your information with the following third-party services, and only to the extent necessary to operate the App:

5.1 RevenueCat (Payment Processing)

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and process payments. RevenueCat receives a unique user identifier and subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your email address or study data. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

5.2 Supabase (Data Storage)

We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider. Supabase stores your account information and study data securely. Supabase's privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.

5.3 No Advertising or Analytics Third Parties

We do not share your data with advertising networks, data brokers, or third-party analytics services. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

6. Community Decks

If you choose to share a deck publicly through the community feature, the deck title, description, and card content will be visible to other users. Your email address and study data are never shared publicly. You can unpublish a shared deck at any time.

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Access and Export

You can view all your data within the App at any time, including your study history, decks, and account information.

7.2 Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly within the App by navigating to Settings → Account → Delete Account. When you delete your account:

• All your personal data is permanently deleted from our servers
• All your decks, cards, and study history are removed
• Any active subscription is not automatically cancelled — please cancel through your App Store or Google Play Store before deleting your account
• Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone

7.3 Email Communications

We only send essential account-related emails (password resets, critical security notices). We do not send marketing emails.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., total number of cards studied across all users) may be retained indefinitely for improving the App.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
